Evening of Football and Fun
For several years now, our company owner has supported the Marvin Lewis Foundation Football 101 event. The monetary contribution is vitally important to the Foundation and the evening of football and fun is a time of bonding for the eight lucky ladies selected to attend from our company.
The afternoon starts out with a stretch limo arriving at the office with special gifts for each lady. The smooth ride from the suburbs is filled with “ooohs” and “aaahs” over the VIP loot.
Shopping: So Many Choices; So Little Time!
Arrival at Paul Brown Stadium means a walk on the orange carpet prior to a private shopping experience at the Bengals Pro Shop. There are goodies galore, games and giveaways. Each guest has ample time to be dazzled by the silent auction items. And not to be forgotten, the live auction of some top shelf prizes.
What It’s All About
During the meal prior to on-field activities, the Foundation honors a Survivor of the Year, a breast cancer survivor recognized for her strength, courage and perseverance in fighting the devastating disease. This is truly what the night is all about.
Catch a Pass; Kick a Field Goal; Hit the Pads
Coach Marvin and the Bengals coaching staff explain the rules and demonstrate the nuances of football in a relaxed, entertaining atmosphere. The ladies also get a clinic on catching and kicking the football, offensive and defensive drills, chalk talk and reviewing actual game film. Photos in front of their favorite players’ lockers are a favorite time for many of the ladies. They also enjoy admiring the size of the shoe collections of the some of the players.
Don’t Forget Your Selfie-stick!
Marvin, the coaches and “Who Dey” are very gracious to take time for photos with all the ladies. There’s no better memento than a treasured photo with your group of gals and the sports legends. Some find it rewarding to see themselves on the field’s big screen during activities. Undoubtedly my mug is up there when I don’t have the best form.
One-of-a-Kind Girls Night out
After the final field activity, it’s back inside for late night Cheese Coney’s and GiGi’s cupcakes, one final gift bag and the ride back to the office. We are pleased and blessed to continue participation in events like Football 101 to help raise awareness and funds to empower youth education throughout our community.
