IronRoad is conducting a confidential search for our Cincinnati, Ohio 45245 based client. Our search is focused on finding the right Meat Manager that will bring their skills, experience and infectious, lighthearted personality to this close-knit team and their loyal customers.

Job Summary

Our clients Meat Department has a large selection/variety of the highest quality cuts. They carry the all-time favorites as well as a plethora of meats that other grocery stores, markets and chains do not carry. Their Butcher-shop style department is always cutting, grinding, trimming, wrapping, and presenting all our meats in a beautiful manner.
An experienced Meat Cutter for our client is responsible for keeping all store meat cases stocked and clean during business hours, as well as cutting, grinding, cleaning new cuts for the service case and shelves. They are required to assist customers as needed and maintain a friendly, engaging demeanor. This position requires adhering to all procedural guidelines set by the Meat Department.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Being an Awesome Leader, Communicator and excellent example for the Department
  • Maintain Fiscal year budget objectives including but not limited to ad billings, promotional income/Ad money
  • Meet with vendors and sales representatives to analyze and negotiate the best cost for promotions with vendors within your categories
  • Assist and create weekly Specialty advertisements with feature retails and case projections
  • Ensures cleanliness cases, storage area, and work area for sanitation and safety; includes cleaning of shelves and products, keeping floors free of liquid spills or water, removing hazardous debris from floor and sweeping.
  • Stocks meat, including presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Meat Department schematics as well as ensuring tag and pricing accuracy.
  • Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
  • Monitors the point of purchase signs; ensures a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, promotional material, and information on complimentary foods.
  • Requires operating and using equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Monitors that proper temperatures are being maintained at all stages during the production of meat items.
  • Maintains the organization, stacking, and rotating of all meat products in the cooler and freezer.
  • Uses knowledge of scales, weight measures, and tares to accurately weigh and label meat products; includes packaging and wrapping products and following the proper dating procedures.
  • Maintains proper safety practices and care while using all the cutting accessories available in the meat department; complies with the use of mesh gloves while using a knife.
  • Participates in pre-inventory preparation; includes back stock and assuring tags match products.
  • Sustains a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
  • Walks department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and overall clean appearance at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Weekend, evening, occasional holiday work required
  • Ability to stand, walk and bend for up to 10 consecutive hours
  • Ability to maneuver weight up to 40 lbs.
